Essay Contest Open to Northeast Ohio High School Students

Circle Cities With Love - Cleveland wants to hear what Northeast Ohio teens are thinking about the positive power of silence.

High school students (and 2018 grads) are invited to submit essays (no more than 500 words) by July 13, 2018, responding to this question: How can silence have a positive impact in today's world?

First, second and third prize winners will be recognized at Circle Cities With Love - Cleveland event on Sunday, July 29. The first-place winner will have the opportunity to read her or his essay from the main stage at Voinovich Park in downtown Cleveland.

Cash prizes also will be awarded: $500 for first,  $300 for second and $100 for third. 

WHO: Any student from Northeast Ohio in grades nine to 12 (or 2018 high school grads)

WHAT: Write an essay (500 words or less) answering this question: How can silence have a positive impact in today's world?

WHY: The mission of Circle the Cities with Love is to stand together, holding hands in silence and embodying the power of love that brings healing, peace, and justice to our world. We are eager to involve young people in our mission.

DEADLINE: All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. July 13. Winners will be notified by July 20.
